In 2021/22, I was responsible to develop the fairing for Swissloop prototype Lavinia Heisenberg.
With its carbon-fibre reinforced polymer and polyurethane core sandwich construction, CargoShell is lightweight and stiff despite its size. The large internal space allows for transport of EUR pallets with the prototype. Pre-milling the core allowed for production without tooling, drastically reducing cost and material use.
In July 2022, Lavinia Heisenberg won the award for Best Mechanical System at the European Hyperloop Week in Delft, the Netherlands.
